11.3. Insects and plant reproductive biology


Insects are intimately associated with plants. Agriculturalists, horticulturalists, and gardeners are aware of their role in damage and disease dispersal. However, certain insects are vitally important to many plants, assisting in their reproduction, through pollination, or their dispersal, through spreading their seeds.
